So, your official transcripts show your classes and GPA that you took at a school. Nursing programs will look at this to see if your classes are transferable, whether you completed the required pre-requisites, and if you have good grades.

1. Your program might ask for your transcript to be sent virtually or through mail. If virtually, you can just go online and search official transcripts on your school’s website. If you it is by mail, you can also do it online and request to be sent by mail or will need to go to the registrar’s office to request your transcript that way.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
2. Sending your transcripts costs money, so make sure you budget for that during the application process. ⠀⠀

3. Send your transcript about a month before the deadline. It takes time for the school to process the application and in the case there are any delays, you will have time to get everything in before the deadline. ⠀⠀

4. If you took classes at multiple schools, you will need to send an official transcript from each school you attended to each school you are applying to. ⠀⠀

5. Make sure you are sending your transcripts to the correct place. Do not assume. If you are confused, call the nursing program and ask where they accept transcripts. This is also important if your future school has 2 separate applications, one for nursing and one for the actual university. You will need to send two copies of all your transcripts, 1 to the school and 1 to the nursing program. It can get confusing, so ask questions and keep all info in your checklist.
